How the 2027 premium season unfolds
- 1End of September: the FOPH publishes the approved 2027 premiums for all cantons.
- 2October: your health insurer informs you in writing about your new premium.
- 330 November: your notice of termination must reach your current insurer by then; the switch takes effect on 1 January 2027.

When are the 2027 health insurance premiums announced?
The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) publishes the approved premiums at the end of September every year. All insured persons then receive their new policy by the end of October.
By when can I switch my basic insurance for 2027?
Your notice of termination must reach your current health insurer by 30 November at the latest. The switch then takes effect on 1 January 2027.
What does the premium alert cost?
Nothing. You receive one email as soon as the official premiums for your canton are available, and you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the email.
We only write to you when the new premiums are out.
