Die innova Versicherungen AG mit Sitz in Gümligen (Muri bei Bern) ist ein reiner Zusatzversicherungs-Spezialist (VVG). Aus einer 1993 gegründeten Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Berner KUKO-Krankenkasse hervorgegangen, wurde die innova Versicherungen AG 1996 als eigenständige Gesellschaft etabliert. 2013 stieg innova aus der Grundversicherung (KVG) aus und übertrug rund 38'000 Grundversicherte an die Visana-Gruppe, um sich ausschliesslich auf Krankenzusatzversicherungen zu konzentrieren. Das Unternehmen gehört über die innova Holding AG vollständig der innova Stiftung (Muri bei Bern) und ist damit nicht gewinnorientiert im klassischen Sinn. innova gilt als Pionierin der Schweizer Nichtraucher-Versicherung (sanvita, seit 1994) und der flexiblen Spitalzusatzversicherung (switch). Die Erträge aus dem versicherungstechnischen Geschäft beliefen sich 2025 auf rund 99 Millionen Franken bei einer SST-Solvenzquote von 412 Prozent.
